Ookusu, the 2000-year old tree at Kinomiya Shrine is a popular spot. It is said that if you go around the Ookusu once, your life-span extends by 1 year.
It is famous as a shrine that brings happiness and good luck.
There are rest areas in the shrine, so you can enjoy meals there as well.

This is said to be the origin of the name, Izu.
After climbing 837 steps made of rock, you can enjoy a great view of Atami city and the ocean.
It is said to bring good luck with relationships because Minamoto no Yoritomo and Masako Houjou met here.
It is also good for strong luck because this is where Minamoto no Yorimoto and Ieyasu Tokugawa prayed for victory.

This is a museum where you can see pieces such as Korin OGATA's "Kohakubai-zu byobu".
It reopened in winter of 2017 as an oriental modern museum.

Atami Baien (Plum tree park) is a famous spot for the fastest flowering of Ume and a late foliage in Japan.
It opened in Meiji 19. Here you can enjoy Ume, Sakura, and foliage throughout various seasons.
From early June to mid June, you can enjoy fireflies as well.

This is a castle that stands on Nishigakiura.
Warriors tried to establish a castle here but could not finish the job.
This castle was built in Showa 34 as a tourist attraction.
You can enjoy a 360 degree view of Atami's ocean and mountains from the castle tower viewing deck.
In the Atami trick art maze, you can enjoy photo shoots using optical illusion.

This is a 200,000 tsubo garden that lies on the hill, which received the 17th World Rose Meeting Garden Award.
It was designed by landscape designer, Nobuo Shirasuna.
There are 12 gardens inside where you can enjoy various roses and herbs of the season.
There are also workshops where you can experience making herbal soaps and cologne.
