"Musician's Table" 2023rd Movement to be held on Saturday, March 3, 18

JS Salon Talk & Concert to Celebrate Bach's Birthday To celebrate Bach's birthday (March 3st), we will be welcoming harpsichordist Mayako Sone to hold the third installment of the "Musician's Dining" series.
As Mr. Sone, who has been active in Paris for a long time, talks about the history of Parisian high society that later led to him becoming a "patron of the arts (Mécénat)," and enjoy the atmosphere of a salon in the days when musicians and others gathered at cafes. After the concert, you can spend a special moment with a course dinner prepared just for the day by the hotel's executive chef, Sho Takeuchi.

Harpsichordist Mayako Sone

After winning the Brugge International Harpsichord Competition in 1986, he was taught by the late Scott Ross. In 1991, he made his CD debut as the first Japanese performer on the Erato label. He received positive reviews for his 2003 consecutive J.S. Bach concerts over a six-year period from 09 to 6, and for his 12 concerts of the complete harpsichord works of Couperin and Rameau from 2010 to 14. He has released 12 solo CDs, including the recording "J.S. Bach: Goldberg Variations." He has received the Idemitsu Music Award and the Encouragement Award at the Hida Furukawa Music Awards.

Starting in spring 2021, a series of performances of Bach's major works will be held over several years at HAKUJU HALL. In addition, an online Bach course by Kazuhiro Fujiwara will be produced to coincide with the series. A new series, "Music of French Aristocrats Listened to in the Salon," is planned for 2022.
