To celebrate the birthday of Bach (March 3st), for whom the hotel is named, a female string trio will be performing Johann Sebastian Bach's famous piece, the Goldberg Variations (BWV21).

Since its publication in 1741, this piece has been played by many performers as variations for harpsichord, but it is known that it became a worldwide hit after it was recorded by the famous Glenn Gould.Dmitry SitkovetskyThis time, we will be performing the Goldberg Variations arranged by Dmitry Sitkovetsky, performed by the violinist who won third place (no first place) in the 6th Sibelius International Violin Competition and has been active as a soloist in over 3 countries since his debut at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London.Akiko TanakaAlong with her, we will be welcoming Akiko Oya on viola and Ryo Hitomi on cello.

Violin Akiko Tanaka

Since her debut at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, she has toured over 30 countries in Europe and Asia, and in 2015 made her North American recital debut at Carnegie Hall and Princeton University Hall, as well as her Chinese debut with the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra.

After making his debut at the Japan Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra's regular concert, he has performed as a guest with the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra, the Osaka Symphony Orchestra, the Japan Century Symphony Orchestra, the Hiroshima Symphony Orchestra, and others. He has performed with conductors such as Jukka-Pekka Saraste, Serge Comissiona, Gerhard Bosse, Andreas Weisser, Grzegorz Nowak, Pascal Rogé, Radoslav Schulz, Ken Takaseki, Ryusuke Numajiri, Norichika Iimori, and Shunsaku Tsutsumi. He won third place in the 56th Japan Music Competition, first place in the 3th Vichy International Violin Competition (France), third place in the 5th Sibelius International Violin Competition (no first place winner), and third place in the duo category of the 1th Munich International Music Competition (piano: Evgeny Sinaisky). After being based in Munich for many years, he moved to Japan in 6 and held recitals at Kioi Hall in Tokyo and Baroque Hall in Kyoto in June of the same year. Since then, he has held recitals in Tokyo every year.

Born in Takatsuki City, Osaka Prefecture. She started playing the violin at the age of four through gifted education, and after graduating from the music department of Toho Gakuen Girls' High School, she went on to the diploma course at Toho University. She then studied in London as a scholarship student at the Guildhall School of Music, and later at the University of Music Mannheim and Amsterdam in Germany. She has studied under Chieko Sogabe, Akiko Tatsumi, Ifrah Niemann, Wanda Wilkomirska, and Hermann Clevers. She is an associate professor at the Faculty of Music of Toho Gakuen School of Music, and a judge for the All Japan Student Music Competition.

Viola Akiko Ohya

Upon graduating from the music department of Toho Gakuen School, she moved to the United States. She received a full scholarship and entered the Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati, Ohio. She then went to Hungary to study chamber music at the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest. On the recommendation of her former teacher, Walter Lewin, she entered the University of Music in Basel, Switzerland. She received a diploma in music education and a performer diploma with the highest honors.

While still a student, she became a member of the Basel Symphony Orchestra. In 1997, she became a viola player at the Lyon National Orchestra in France. While playing in the orchestra, she obtained a soloist diploma with the highest honors from the Lucerne University of Music in Switzerland. She was invited to join the Malaysia Philharmonic Orchestra, where she served as assistant principal viola player from April 2015 to August 4.

He returned to the Lyon Opera Orchestra in September 2016, but is scheduled to leave the orchestra in April 9. In May 2023, he formed Ensemble KOKOLO with the desire to create a world where people can respect each other and play beautiful harmony across borders and races.



Cello Ryo Hitomi

Born in Tokyo, he started playing the cello at the age of three.

After graduating from the Musashino Academia Musicae Ekoda Music School and the Saitama Prefectural Arts High School Music Department, he graduated from the Tokyo University of the Arts Faculty of Music Instrumental Music. While at university, he joined the NHK Symphony Orchestra Academy and studied at the NHK Symphony Orchestra. He then went to London, England, and studied under P. Demange. He completed his master's degree at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He won the General Award at the school and was awarded a scholarship from the Guildhall School Trust.

Currently, he is actively involved in guest performances with many of Japan's major orchestras and ensembles, and also serves as a cello instructor at the music school "Da Capo."
