Leipzig, Germany, the “city of culture.”
Coffee was introduced to Germany early in the early 1700s, and the oldest coffee house in Germany, Café Baum, became a salon (social gathering place) where many musicians, including J.S. Bach, gathered.
This cocktail is a matcha-infused version of Leipzig's famous dessert, the Bachtaler.
This product was inspired by the fact that the chocolate confectionery "Bachthaler," invented by confectioner Kandler to commemorate the 250th anniversary of Bach's death, contains coffee beans inside, in honor of Bach's love of coffee.

The base is the Nikka SESSION whiskey, which is a session of Scottish melodies and Japanese rhythms.
Enjoy Hotel GrandBach's original harmony of a gorgeous blend of Scottish and Japanese whiskey, infused with coffee and cocoa butter, and made with Japanese matcha liqueur. We also recommend adding tonic water for a refreshing summer arrangement! Spend a long summer night intoxicated with conversation with wonderful people, with the artwork of "Coffee Cantata," which Bach composed here, as your backdrop.

Head Bartender Tsukasa Takahashi

He won first place in the Nikka Whisky Forum Cocktail Competition in 2014, and has since won numerous awards at competitions hosted by the Japan Bartenders Association. He was also selected as a Japan Finalist at the 2018 Hennessy Cocktail Competition and as a finalist in the Japan Final at the Ron Sakapalam Competition.

Since 2021, he has been working as head bartender at Hotel GrandBach Tokyo Ginza.
