Hotel GrandBach Tokyo Ginza opened in 2021 in an area formerly known as "Kobikicho," a place that is a haven from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo's central Ginza district. This area was once the residence of Naonobu Kobikicho, one of the four Kano families who served as inner palace painters for the Edo Shogunate. The Kobikicho Kano family was the most prosperous of the four families, receiving many requests for paintings from various feudal lords and attracting many disciples. Many artists have come out of the Kano Art School, and it is said that they made a great contribution to the modern Japanese art world of the Meiji period. As this is a place with ties to the Kano school, you can see artworks that imitate the style of the Kano school throughout the hotel.
The special cocktail for spring 2024 was inspired by the contemporary artist's "Yoshino Cherry Blossoms and Golden Pheasant," inspired by the double cherry blossoms in the "Yoshinozu byobu" (The Screen of Yoshino), a painting of a famous cherry blossom spot by Tsunenobu Kano, and expresses gorgeous cherry blossoms and gold leaf clouds. As spring is eagerly awaited, please enjoy the refreshing spring breeze with a subtle cherry blossom liqueur based on craft gin.
